Cognect

Cognect is a platform solution designed to support people living with dementia and their families. The system comprises a bespoke screen and secure mobile app that enables families to send messages, reminders, photos and videos to help loved ones remain engaged and involved in daily family life. Cognect was developed from first-hand experience of supporting someone living independently with vascular dementia, addressing the limitations of simple day clocks, calendars and post-it notes. The platform allows families to organise care tasks such as meal planning, shopping and visit coordination, replacing ineffective messaging chains with a coordinated approach. Cognect is particularly suited for people with memory loss including vascular dementia or Alzheimer's, and for those who struggle with modern technology. The solution has been tested within a small circle of users and their families, with plans to launch more widely.
