Telecare Cardiff

Telecare Cardiff and Meals on Wheels are services provided by Cardiff Council to help vulnerable, disabled and elderly residents live independently at home. For over 30 years, the technology enabled care service has helped thousands of residents across Cardiff stay safe and independent in their homes, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service comprises a 24-hour link to an Alarm Receiving Centre and Mobile Response unit, helping over 5,500 customers across the city. In 2023, the service took over 245,560 telecare calls. Customers are provided with a pendant alarm and response unit to contact the service if they find themselves in difficulty. The service also delivers over 2,000 hot, nutritious lunchtime meals a week, catering for a variety of diet requirements and cultural needs. A bilingual service is offered to all customers, with a person-centred approach to provide bespoke care packages.
